The price of the course is 250.00€ (incl. VAT 25.5%).
Previous tufting experience is not required.
All materials are included in the course price.
On the first day of the course, you will learn about the range and possibilities of tufting, the practical process of machine tufting, and all related materials. You will practice using different tufting machines, try different yarn materials and combinations, and work on a three-dimensional surface by varying the length of the pile. We will also go through various issues related to finishing a tufted work.
+1 Day In addition, each course participant gets one day of independent tufting time at the studio at a time that best suits them (see details below). During that day, you have time to produce a work of a maximum size of about 50cm x 50cm. The materials for this work are also included in the course price. If you wish to work on a bigger project, you can book more working time and buy more materials. The +1 day does not include teaching, but the studio staff is present and will lend a hand if needed.
The +1 day should be either a weekday (10 am to 4 pm) or two consecutive weekday evenings (4 pm to 8 pm). The +1 day should be within two months of the course's teaching days. You can book your +1 day by email [pirita@valitilastudio.org].
We provide all the necessary materials (primary fabric, yarn, glue), but you're also welcome to bring your own yarn. You can use a wide variety of different yarns for tufting. Feel free to ask us in advance about your yarn's suitability for this technique.
Cancellation Policy
These cancellation terms apply to courses and workshops organized by Välitila Studio. Please note that terms for events organized by third parties in our spaces may differ from these.
Registration is binding once the registration form has been returned, completed or the information requested in it has been provided in writing (primarily by email). Course places are filled in order of registration. You will receive an invoice with the form, and the payment must be visible in our account by the due date or the registration will be canceled.
Cancellation must be made no later than 14 days before the start of the course. For cancellations made less than 14 days before the start of the course: The paid participation fee will not be refunded and the reserved course place will be invoiced at full price. However, you can transfer the course place to another person or to another workshop session. Please contact us as soon as possible to arrange the transfer.
If Välitila Studio has to cancel the event: We will notify all registrants directly about the cancellation. Our primary aim is to arrange a replacement course session. We will refund the participation fee only if a replacement event cannot be arranged.
