This course is for you who already have some background with jacquard; you have completed Välitila's Digital Jacquard 1 basic course, or perhaps some time has passed since your jacquard studies, and you need a refresher.

WORKSHOP STRUCTURE | This is a "+1 workshop," which means it includes both a shared instruction day and one independent working day at the studio. The independent day doesn't include formal teaching, but studio staff will be available to assist when needed. The +1 day must be used within two months of the workshop day and is typically scheduled as either one weekday (10 AM - 6 PM) or two consecutive weekday evenings (4 PM - 8 PM).

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN | During the shared day, everyone will work through the same guided exercises using prepared sample images. You'll gain the essential skills for designing your own more complexed jacquard patterns and preparing digital files. You can use your independent day to either weave your own designs or continue practising with sample files.
For the course, you need to bring your own laptop with Photoshop. In the Jacquard beginner course, the free Photopea program is suitable for processing simpler patterns. However, colour management of multi-tonal sketches or structuring for multiple wefts, which are done in this course, requires the Photoshop program.
If you wish, you can participate without your own Photoshop or computer and apply the instructions in practice later when you have access to the software. You can also book the studio’s computer for later.

The course fee is €250 (incl. VAT 25.5%) and it includes one workshop day + written instructions + one independent weaving day + all materials
Cancellation Policy
These cancellation terms apply to courses and workshops organized by Välitila Studio. Please note that terms for events organized by third parties in our spaces may differ from these.
Registration is binding once the registration form has been returned, completed or the information requested in it has been provided in writing (primarily by email). Course places are filled in order of registration. You will receive an invoice with the form, and the payment must be visible in our account by the due date or the registration will be canceled.
Cancellation must be made no later than 14 days before the start of the course. For cancellations made less than 14 days before the start of the course: The paid participation fee will not be refunded and the reserved course place will be invoiced at full price. However, you can transfer the course place to another person or to another workshop session. Please contact us as soon as possible to arrange the transfer.
If Välitila Studio has to cancel the event: We will notify all registrants directly about the cancellation. Our primary aim is to arrange a replacement course session. We will refund the participation fee only if a replacement event cannot be arranged.
